Can you date or marry in Village in the Shade?
No. You cannot date or marry villagers. Producer Mio Katsumata explicitly says romance was left out in the developer interview, and the official character pages have no dating fields. The protagonist is a child.

What you do instead
Villagers have birthdays, liked gifts, and friendship events. Giving gifts raises a bond. It does not open a partner route.
The official site says villagers at affection level 3 or higher wish the protagonist a happy birthday after the Year 2 birthday-setting event unlocks. This is not a romance meter.
Why some pages still say unconfirmed
Older guides written before the Western launch left dating as “not confirmed.” The character page and the director interview are enough to answer the question in the negative.

No published marriage system. Community wikis that discuss marriage say it is absent.
Is the hero an adult?
No. Official copy calls the protagonist a young child.
Can you still befriend everyone?

Nexus listed a single mod entry, a Thai translation, and that file was marked not published. No romance mod was listed.
